Curtis Judd, very useful.Thanks for this. I wanted to buy the DPA 4017b but it was twice the price of the Sennheiser MKE 416. $2K+ as opposed to $1K. So I bought the 416. Why is the volume so low compared to the 4017b in your demonstration?

How would the dpa 4017b benefit from the extra gain in the mixpre 10ii vs the mixpre 6ii ?

I had the gain set too high at first (when using a dynamic microphone). Once I realized, we reduced the gain at 37:35.
